I had some time to think about the men in my life yesterday.
My Grandpa Henderson is over 80 years old, and my Grandpa Siemens is 78. I'm very lucky to have two complete sets of grandparents. Not many people my age can say that. When I think about my grandparents. I think about the impact they have had on my life. And, I want my children to be able to learn from them like I did. It sometimes scares me to think that one day they might not be here with me. My Grandpa's are both very talented and amazing men.
Grandpa Henderson is a Navy Veteran. He is a proud Veteran! He is so talented and has so many gifts. He also tells great stories. Some of the things I will never ever forget are things like sitting around in their kitchen listening to Grandpa tell all kinds of random but hilarious stories. His sense of humor is...I don't even know. It's amazing! I always remember him saying, "watch it!" to me when I was little. And you have no idea what I mean when I say that unless you've heard Gpa say that. One of my favorite pictures of Gpa is one that he has sitting on his bedside table. It's of Gpa, Meg, and I at the top of the hill in their backyard. I'm sitting on Grandpa's lap and Meg is sitting next to him. We all look so happy and I was soooo young. It makes me smile. We don't get to go visit as much as we would like, but when we can, we go. It's so special that Blaine and Grandpa share the bond over firefighting and the small engines. Blaine misses having his Grandpa Walker and I hope that my Grandpa's make him feel like he is one of their own.

Grandpa Siemens is my Hero. He is amazing. He knows so many people and has such a big heart. He did some amazing things for the Lions. And he, as well as I, met some amazing people too. He's always been there for me. He helped me learn to ride bikes, picked me up from the bus stop after Kindergarten, let me help him shave :o), gave me basketball pointers, helped with calves. You name it, he's been there with a smile from ear to ear. He even spent a bunch of money to buy my 4-H Queen kiss. When I would give him a kiss any day for free! He's always been a big part of my life. And he always will be. He has had some health concerns, but they only make him stronger. He's so tough and can get through anything. No one can love a granddaughter like a Grandpa can. And I'm blessed to have him as mine. Grandpa would always tell me to, "step up to the plate." I would always get so mad and frustrated when he would say that. But you know, it means a lot now. I get it. Grandpa may have given me a hard time sometimes, but it was only because he loves me. And I'm thankful for all of the advice and life lessons he's taught me throughout the years. He is and always will be my Grandpa, Hero, and Friend.

My Dad. My Dad is the best Dad in the world. And of course, he's way cooler than your Dad! :o) I can't even begin to express how I feel about my Dad. It would take a whole post dedicated to him. So, that's what I'm going to do.

Tune in to hear..."the rest of the story"
