The past few days..

The past few days have been busy. Tuesday, I worked until 11:30 then I met Meg and Jill at Meg's apartment. We were leaving to go to Francesville to meet Aunt Karen and Clay at Mom and Dads. They were picking us up there to go to the CUBS GAME!! That's right..I got to go to another Cubs game. I was really glad I got to go..but also wished Mom and Dad could have gone instead. I got a ticket when Mom got hurt. I know how much they wanted to go. It was a good game. They lost, but I still enjoyed being there. It's always fun when we spend time with Aunt Karen and Clay! :o)

Wednesday morning we woke up around 9:45 and Dad made us breakfast. His specialty..Scrambled Eggs!! I was excited. We were on our way back to Lafayette when my phone rang. It was Blaine. He was surprising me by taking the afternoon off so we could run errands and spend some time together. I got back to Meg's around 12:30ish. We then went to Sportsman's Warehouse, Dicks Sporting Goods, and we ate lunch at O'Charley's. It was a good day. We both came home with new pairs of Crocs. Blaine's are camo (of course) and mine are black Mary Jane's. They are really cute. At home, Blaine got cleaned up and then we headed out the door to go get the trailer for next weekend. Blaine dressed in his camo shorts, WPVFD tshirt, and camo crocs. He looked like a completely different person. Who would have thought my husband would wear crocs...and actually really like them! I told him yesterday that there are sometimes when I fall completely in love with him all over again. Yesterday was one of those days.

We were pulling out of our driveway when his fire pager went off. So we went to the call. As we were pulling up to the scene, we noticed we knew some of the people that were standing around. One of the girls that we know from school was riding horses and doing other various 4-H things with her horses, when one of them kicked her in the stomach. So Blaine got out of the car and went to help while I stayed inside to watch. Then, here comes Blaine, Dan, Phil, and Gary rolling out a stretcher with her on it. Blaine said she didn't seem like she was in any pain, but they had to take her to the hospital to make sure everything was OK. Sometimes being a firefighter is really tough. And with the more people we meet...the tougher his job will become down the road.

Today, it was back to work for me. Ugh.. :o) Only a day and a half then it's the weekend! Then next week we only work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday..then we are off to Cagles Mill Creek to go camping with Tony, Bev, and Brandon. It will be a great time. I can't wait. We always have fun as the Party of 5!!
