Our Weekend Adventure...

Blaine and I went for a weekend getaway to Chicago. We left straight from McCutcheon on Friday. We got to our hotel, La Quinta, around 6. We got unpacked, Blaine showered, and then we headed out to find a place to eat. Luckily, we had the GPS system that we had gotten Dad for Father's Day with us. It made the trip a lot easier. We ended up finding a Red Lobster, my favorite. After dinner we made our way to downtown Naperville. It was so cool. There were a ton of people just walking around. It was so cool to just be in that setting. That's something you don't get in Lafayette, IN very often. After we finished our walk, we headed back to the hotel.

Saturday morning we got up bright and early. We went straight to Navy Pier. It had started to sprinkle so we were kind of bummed. But, after we decided to buy a umbrella, the rain stopped. So, we didn't get to use it , but we aren't complaining! :o) We walked(what seemed like) all over the city. We saw some amazing art and some um..different people. But it was nice just being with Blaine. It's funny, because we were talking about this on Saturday evening..it's funny how we didn't really do much for most of the day Saturday but walk..and we had the best time just being with each other. I guess that's what love is all about! :o) Later in the afternoon, we decided to make our way back to Navy Pier. We went on a Yacht Cruise and we went to see Kung Fu Panda in the IMAX Theater. They were both pretty cool! :o)

After we were done there, we made our way through all of the shops and up to the parking garage. We decided that since we were in the car and NOT walking anymore, we were going to try to find the fire house that we'd been looking for all day. It's a good thing that we didn't try to walk all the way over there because it would have been probably another 2 or 3 miles past where we walked. It was nice, but really old. But considering it is the oldest fire house in Chicago...it was pretty cool. So far, we have been inside two Chicago fire stations.... How many people can say that?!?!

Sunday, we left the hotel and started for home. We went to Cabela's in Hammond, Bass Pro Shop in Portage, Fair Oaks Dairy, and then Prophetstown State Park for a cookout with the fam and friends.

It was a great weekend. I know I say this all the time, but I truely am blessed to be married to Blaine. He makes me happy. And, he would do anything for me. :o)
